Marker Lab is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac. One app works on all three.

The course is made for acrylic markers with a brush tip, 12 colours or more. You also need an A5 sketchbook with heavy paper, 200 g/m² or more.

Nice to have: a white gel pen for sparkles on water, an HB pencil and an eraser for the outline, masking tape for a clean edge, plain paper for printing and a tissue to wipe the brush tip.

You don’t have to buy a new set. In My markers you enter your own markers or photograph the open box, and if a colour is missing, the lesson suggests the closest one from your set.

No. The first lessons are small: a berry twig, a leafy twig, a bush in three tones. Every step shows the next marks at real size and names the marker to use.

English, Ukrainian, Russian and Traditional Chinese. The app follows your device language, and you can change it in Profile › Language. Every step can also be read aloud.

No. Everything works on one device without an account. Sign in with Apple is optional: it keeps the same lesson and step on your iPhone, iPad and Mac and restores progress after a reinstall.

If a child paints, a grown-up signs in, in For Parents › Sync. We don’t ask Apple for a name or email.

Check that you signed in with the same Apple Account on both devices (For Parents › Sync) and that both are online. Photos of your works are not synced: they stay on the device where you took them.

In the app: For Parents › Sync › Delete account. Apple asks you to confirm it’s you. We delete the synced progress, sketchbook records and usage statistics linked to the account. What is on your device stays until you delete the app.

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it separately (see below). Details are in the Privacy Policy.

The optional 4-digit PIN guards purchases, links out of the app, sharing and For Parents, and can be required for the AI features. Without a PIN, the app asks a short question that a grown-up can answer.

Forgot it? Tap Reset PIN and confirm as the device owner with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. After 24 hours, confirm again and set a new PIN. Until then the old PIN keeps working, and entering it cancels the reset.

Open the purchase screen and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. On a new device you may need to sign in to the App Store first.

Marker Lab purchases are made to work with Family Sharing. If someone in your family bought the course, turn on Family Sharing for purchases in your Apple account settings, then tap Restore purchases. The App Store page shows Family Sharing for products that support it.

On iPhone or iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Marker Lab. On a Mac: App Store › your name › Account Settings › Subscriptions.

Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Open the lesson’s print sheet. It comes in A4 or US Letter. Print at 100% (actual size, no “fit to page”), then check the 5 cm ruler on the sheet with a real ruler.

No printer? Use the Light table: put thin paper on your iPad or iPhone screen and trace the outline that shines through. Or use the 3 × 4 grid and copy one cell at a time.

Photograph the sheet from above in even light, so it fills most of the frame. The app finds the sheet and crops it. If it can’t, you can set the corners by hand.

An optional feature: you photograph your painting and get one specific piece of praise and one or two tips for the next try, with your own marker numbers. The tips are written by Claude, an AI by Anthropic. There is a daily limit.

A Lesson from Your Photo turns your own photo into a lesson on the device. The teacher can write the step plan from a simplified colour map; without the internet the app makes the plan itself.

Only when you tap to send it: to our server and to Anthropic, to write the tip. We don’t keep the photo, and it isn’t used to train AI. See AI features in the Privacy Policy.

For Parents › Teacher’s Tips. Each feature has its own switch, and you can require the parent PIN for them.

Yes: For Parents › Usage statistics. Turning it off also erases what our server stored for this install. Marker Lab has no ads and no third-party analytics. Read the Privacy Policy.
